Join us next Tuesday, January 21 for an exciting panel of invited speakers entitled “Campus Calling: Exploring Fulfilling (Bio-)Statistics Careers in Academia,” highlighting the many unique and fulfilling paths that exist for (bio-)statisticians within university settings. If you’re thinking about getting a PhD or becoming faculty, this panel is for you!

We will have three incredible panelists.

Dr. Andrea Lane is an Assistant Professor of the Practice in the Duke Social Science Research Institute (SSRI). Her research is in mediation modeling of DNA methylation data. Andrea is passionate about statistics/data science education and incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into coursework.

Dr. Gustavo Amorim is an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His research interests include missing data, measurement error, sampling design, statistical education, and global health.

Dr. Sara Stoudt is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Bucknell University. She collaborates as an applied statistician, particularly in ecology, metrology, and pedagogy.

Dr. Lotspeich will be there to moderate by asking panelists some big-picture questions about what a day in their job looks like, how they got here, and more! There will also be time for students to bring their own questions.

This panel will be hosted virtually through Zoom. For the Zoom meeting link, contact Dr. Lotspeich at lotspes@wfu.edu
