Colloquium: Power and Sample Size Calculations for Causal Inference with Observational Data

Join us Tuesday, October 28 for our next invited speaker of the semester!
Dr. Fan Li will be presenting at 11 AM in the Z. Smith Reynolds (ZSR) Auditorium, Room 404.
Fan Li is a Professor at the Department of Statistical Science with a secondary appointment at the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Duke University. Dr. Li’s main research interest is causal inference, the interface between causal inference and machine learning, and their applications to health research and social sciences. She has developed methods for propensity score, clinical trials, power analysis, natural experiments such as difference-in-differences and regression discontinuity designs. She also works on methods for Bayesian analysis and missing data. Recently she has been exploring the use of agentic-AI on analyzing large registry and electronic health record data.
Dr. Li’s talk is entitled “Power and Sample Size Calculations for Causal Inference with Observational Data.”
