Recommendations for First Years
Statistics is all about learning to use data to ask and answer questions. It has applications in all disciplines, including medicine, sports, finance, sociology, psychology, environmental science, business, biology, and more.
If you want to explore statistics, the first step is to take STA 111. This is our foundational course in statistics and probability. STA 111 counts for a Divisional Requirement and also fulfills your QDA requirement.
If you have already taken STA 111, STA 112 is a great next step. This course focuses on regression modeling and you will start learning the coding skills you need to apply statistics to real data.
